RAMAPO. Ramapo College exploded for 15 runs in the fourth inning to post an 18-1 independent baseball victory over Staten Island Wednesday. It was the 15th consecutive victory for Ramapo while Staten Island lost for the ninth time in as many decisions. George Skeens was 3-for-4 for the winners with two RBI while teammate Iggy MacMillan added 2-for-2 including a triple and three RBI. "Iggy MacMillan reached on an error, moved to third on a single and scored on an infield out." Ramapo won both games, 6-5 and 6-3, to reach 26-5.

Ramapo swept a doubleheader at East Stroudsburg, 6-5 and 6-3, to reach 26-5. The 25th win set the school record. Ramapo went on to win the NJSAC Northern Division and reach the NCAA Division III tournament.

By Pat Besold. Mickey Ennis, 23, took over as head coach. Senior Rob "Iggy" MacMillan shared second base with Tom Formosa. "Among the veterans leading the way are co-captains MacMillan and senior right fielder Ernie Ursillo." Over the Roadrunners' first 14 games, MacMillan was batting .438 with four homers and 15 RBI. Ramapo 15-3.

MAHWAH. Robert MacMillan, who spent last baseball season on the sidelines while being hampered by torn ligaments, has burst back with a vengeance. A senior who was recently named New Jersey's college division Player of the Week, MacMillan is hitting very well. Presently batting at a .430 clip to lead the Ramapo College team, the West Essex High School product also paves the way in hits with 31 in 72 at bats, including eight doubles. He is one of the key reasons why the Roadrunners are 15-3 under first-year coach Mickey Ennis. "Last season was a disaster," MacMillan said, "one I'd like to forget. I could hardly walk for nine months." Ennis has found a place for MacMillan as a designated hitter, and in left field. And the versatile athlete, known as "Iggy" to his teammates, can also play a fine second base. "He's a highly versatile player," Ennis said. "I feel he does a fine job in the field, runs well, and hits with power. A top athlete to have around." Only 5-8 and 155 pounds, MacMillan has already hit five home runs, putting him only one behind team-leader Ernie Ursillo, the starting right fielder, and even with shortstop Joe Jarrell. And in the RBI department, it's center fielder Tom Sylvester with 22, Jarrell with 21 and then there's MacMillan with 20. Even in runs scored, you'll find MacMillan among the leaders. Ursillo and second baseman Tom Formosa have crossed the plate 24 times each, while right behind is MacMillan with 19. And while left fielder John Musco shows the way with three triples, MacMillan has two. MacMillan is also a team leader in run-scoring sacrifice flies with two. Musco is batting .426, Jarrell is at .420 and Sylvester is hitting .406.
